Ever feel like a black sheep? A few friends and I have often talked about how much God loves His flock. We smile, knowingly, with one another because we are not only sheep...but black ones. It's been a blessing to meet people who are raw and real about themselves and their faith. In certain people I find "black sheep fellowship," these are special ones with whom I don't need to participate in the "Stained Glass Masquerade." Through these precious sheep I find Jesus teaching me His grace, reaching out to me with His love and truth. These people enrich my life and encourage my heart. I rejoice that I can do the same for them. The truth sets us free and I don't think we need to be "happy plastic people with walls around our weaknesses and smiles to hide our pain." That seems a bit like prison, doesn't it?
Today, Lord Jesus, I am grateful for Your sheep. But Lord, I'm especially grateful for the black ones who have been Your helpers in sanctifying me and ultimately, setting me free.
Happy Thanksgiving!
