Well...let me tell you, this is my new favorite way to read a magazine! I just spent the most glorious hour reading the latest digital edition of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine and I loved every minute of it! Why?
First off, it's professional...it is an exact duplicate of the printed version, full color, excellent graphics, awesome content and wonderful organization. You can actually flip the pages, just as if you were doing it in real time! The pages loaded quickly, there was very little to no delay as I turned each page. And this so cool - I could zoom in and adjust the print size! Yes, my forty one year old eyes could read The Old Schoolhouse Magazine without my reading glasses! Oh thank you...I feel so much younger!
Besides all the wonderful content that the print version offers, there were working weblinks. This is so helpful to busy moms! I could immediately click and learn more if I so desired. No more reminder notes to visit various websites later! I could simply click on the link and voila' I was there!
Yes, I still miss the feel of paper between my fingers...and it's sorta hard to cozy up to the computer screen. (But boy do I have plans for my son's laptop when the next issue comes out!)
All in all, the digital edition saves me money, spares the earth a few trees and helps me economize my time in researching curriculum and visiting writer's websites and blogs.
Highly Recommended! Click on the graphic above to link to a sample copy of The Old Schoolhouse Digital Magazine.

Then there is Heart of the Matter Magazine, a relatively new online option. The digital magazine and it's blog are totally free! Both are packed full of encouraging and thought provoking articles written by homeschooling families just like yours and mine. But wait, there's more! I'm totally excited that HotM magazine will be going to print soon. (You see...I really am a die-hard, "glossy pages between my fingers," sort of person. LOL But, if they ever get that cool software where you can flip the pages online and zoom in...well, I'm totally there, no matter what it might cost! The picture of the Heart of the Matter Magazine is linked to the magazine. If you wish to visit the blog (and I recommend that you do), go here. Highly recommended!
