Get Out to Vote! - Election Resource for Children

This morning before leaving for the polls I packed a lunch and bottled water. I was determined to cast my vote no matter how long it took. The sky was a dismal grey and the weather a bit nippy. So sweatshirt and umbrella in hand, this ole' momma and her ten year old son set off to participate in the election process.

I thought outloud..."Ya' know, people have died so that I can have a voice in who runs this country." It strikes me that voting is not only a right, it is a responsibility.

Have you voted? Please do so. Look at the weather, bring a snack, possibly a folding chair and be determined. It's important.

Electoral College Tally Sheet and United States Map - This is an excellent resource for election evening fun. We've done a worksheet similar to this one at every presidential election in my children's education. Great way to discuss the electoral process!

Ben's Guide to U.S. Government for Kids - This website, produced by the U.S. Government Printing Office, is divided by various grade level groupings. There is something for every stage of learning from Kindergarten to 12th grade! Informative, helpful and highly recommended.

Blessings,
