Tropical Storm Debbie and Faith Like a Child

Tropical Storm Debbie has been pouring down rain all day.  We've lost several limbs from the old dead oak out back.  There have been a few tornado warnings.  Grace is fearful.  She is old enough to understand the danger, and is unsure about whether she can trust God.

So tough to grow up sometimes.  God wants us to have faith like a child.  The natural faith that babies are born with seems to wisp away with every birthday.  I have learned that we all must learn to make a conscience choice to take faith like that of a small dependent child.  The youngest of children know nothing else, but to follow where Mom and Dad lead.

So Grace is being given an opportunity to choose.  Branches fall down around us, yet God is in Heaven, sovereign over all.  Even if this house is crumpled under a falling tree, we are safe!  We are safe because of Jesus.  Eternally okay...no matter what, because we believe in Him.

  1. I've enjoyed reading your posts! This particular post tickled me b/c I remember posting about the same tropical storm. It just happened to be the very first day we arrived in Tampa. http://nooneofanyimport.wordpress.com/2012/06/25/tropical-storm-debby-says/ Cheers!
