Does one absolutely have to declare a New Year's resolution? I'm not feeling particularly resolved about anything.
I feel that this year will bring change, trial and adventure. I'm almost certain about that. I can't really say why, but it just seems that God is moving in my life...in my husband and myself, and in my children.
I'm not sure a resolution will work. I'm thinking that instead of a resolution I would like to declare a surrender.
Wouldn't that be so much more effective? After all, when one "resolves" to do something they are saying, "I promise to do this thing." But are any of us truly capable of doing anything at all in our own power? (Methinks, not.)
My experience tells me that it is God working in me that enables me to carry out His will.
So, this year I will not resolve anything. I don't feel capable of resolve, really.
So God, I surrender....
