1. I'm thankful that my master and commander is Jesus Christ. In dealing with various circumstances recently, I've been reminded what a huge blessing it is to have God in control of my life. I see what a mess life would be if I didn't know Him.
2. I'm thankful for Gracie, who loves to help. Folding towels, sorting colors and whites, helping with breakfast, lunch, dinner and cleaning the bathroom. What a blessing to have a little homemaker helper! You can do a lot for only being four years old! Good for you, big girl!
3. I'm thankful for smart, thoughtful and sensitive boys who love Jesus.
4. I'm thankful for saints who have gone before, who know how hard it is to surrender and have a heart to encourage and build up, rather than criticize and tear down. I appreciate their words which linger over generations and carry the scent of Christ which makes a person hunger for more of Him.
5. I'm thankful for hugs from my men. The stress leaves me and the strength washes in on gentle waves.
6. I'm thankful that our lawn mower started yesterday. (I tried a bazillion times to get it started, cleaned the air filter, checked the gas and oil and it just wouldn't start. I prayed. I looked in our savings account to see if we could squeeze out enough for a new reel mower, but there wasn't enough money. I prayed. I prayed. I prayed. The lawn mower started and we quickly mowed back and front since it had grown about six inches in a week's time!) We have to pray this mower through the summer...
7. I'm thankful for Hillbilly Housewife's Honey Granola recipe. It's alot better than the brown sugar recipe I had been using. It tastes just as good as the $4.00 a box cereal we cannot afford to buy. In fact, it tastes even better because I know we saved so much making it ourselves in ten minutes time!
8. I'm thankful that my husband received a new fancy smancy IPOD for his birthday because he has given me his old one! Now I can sing in tune when I do my chores. {snort}
9. I'm thankful for Goodwill. Five blouses, four skirts = $37.00, all in new condition.
10. I'm thankful for truth and that God was gracious in holding back the enemy's deception in a courtroom. Many of you are praying for my nephew. Please do continue... (Especially for my brother to have wisdom and discernment as to his daycare arrangement, school choice, etc... Pray for my brother's surrender as he learns to "daddy," full time. He is a Christian.)
