Our Schedule

We implented stage one of a several stage process this week designed to give me more time to write. The changes worked wonderfully although not perfectly.

Stage One was to begin our school day by 8:00 a.m. This has given us SO much more time to accomplish everything in a much more relaxed manner. And we've managed to complete most of our week despite having the day off yesterday for hiking. This stage also involved lesson planning for one child a day, rather than saving it all up for one day which takes me...forever.

Stage Two will begin next week. My goal is that the teens will do a load of laundry start to finish everyday and each one will take a turn sweeping. In addition, I'll be training both older boys to cook a meal once a week. I'm hoping that these measures will begin to free me up to write and hopefully allow me to bring in some income.

I'm praying through this process; making adjustments as the Lord leads. I could simply say, "I'm going to do XYZ to make our schedule work more smoothly," but I've tried and failed before. I think I need to purpose to stay under the Lord's umbrella of protection here and only implement those things that I know He has given me to do.

Grateful for His grace,

**Update: Discouraged that these steps are not helping much. AND I'm feeling like the boys have too many chores to do. Praying, praying, praying...
